Sororro Islands, Mexico

Socorro Islands, Mexico

Referred to as the “Mexican Galapagos”, the Revillagigedos Archipelago is known for big animal encounters and species diversity. Located approximately 250 miles south of Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, the more common name of the Revillagigedos is Socorro Islands. As one of the most remote and wild areas in the world, encounters with Giant Pacific Manta Rays are common year-round and there are possibilities to dive and snorkel with Whale Sharks and Humpback Whales seasonally. Due to the seasonality of Humpback Whales and Whale Sharks, Denver Divers has chosen to travel to the Socorro Islands in early April, to maximize the opportunities to see these majestic creatures. After 12 years of encounters with Humpback Whales, the species recognize the Solmar V Vessel and are attracted to the boat, increasing chances to swim with these gentle giants! Another large attraction to this Archipelago is the diversity of sharks found around the islands, encountering up to 7 species in one dive!
